Glacier Park - Day 2

Written politely 2018-06-16.

We went back to John’s lake and did that loop before lunch. We saw a deer and really enjoyed the easy walk. Besides the Lilly padded lake, we walked besides some more white rapids with some beautiful views of the mountains. I walked part of the trail singing Jesus Christ the Apple Tree and just making up some songs.

It was again a wonderful feeling to be in that forest. Even though the forecast called for rain, it only sprinkled a bit.

We had lunch at Eddies. It was expensive and was average at best. The kids meals were $9 a piece. All the help in the restaurant were hired from overseas and the backs of their uniform shirts said, “Keep it Local”. Fairly ironic.

After lunch we decided to walk the Going to the Sun road since it was closed due to a recent snow. We walked about a mile and had a deer follow us about a mile before turning back because the rain was getting pretty intense. We were fairly soaked when we got back to the car.

We headed back to the cabin for dinner and to get cleaned up, packed and ready for bed. In the morning we were going to leave for Portland.
